Here’s a quick story to show you why you need to push through the challenges you face.
One day a man is walking through the forest. He sees a cocoon. A butterfly was trying to get out, but it was really struggling. The man sat there for a couple hours watching the butterfly. Worried that the butterfly might get stuck and and die, he decides to help. He cut the butterfly out, expecting it to fly away.
However, when the butterfly came out, it could not fly. It had crippled wings and it spent its life walking around on little legs, unable to fly.
What went wrong?
The cocoon is a necessary part of the butterfly’s life. It needs the struggle of getting out in order to develop correctly. During the struggle of getting out of the cocoon, the butterfly loses fluid and the wings will form correctly and enable it to fly. Without the struggle, the wings never develop the way they should.
So, what was my point?
The struggle is necessary in Real Estate too. You are not going to walk up to your first foreclosure and just have an easy go of it. You are going to have to figure out how the process works. Once you have that down, it will be a walk in the park.
If you take it easy and never struggle or push yourself, you won’t fly. You need to push through what you think you can’t do.
You need to hustle.
You may go weeks without a listing. All that work you are putting in on the front end will pay off though. It just takes time.
Even if you have a niche that you work hard at, you may not see quick results. However, you will see the results of your labor in time. You build up a funnel of potential listings. It’s not quick money, but you find yourself with a slow steady stream.
Even in the hottest economy in 10 years, there are still over 3,000 foreclosures in Jacksonville. Just look at the Public Records Screenshot below.
